KIA got a chance to score first with two outs in the bottom of the third inning due to leadoff hitter Kim Tae-gun's hit to the left, Seo Geon-chang's sacrifice bunt, and an opponent's wild pitch. However, Socrates missed the chance to score first when he hit a fly ball to second base.

Samsung broke the tight 0 trend. In the top of the sixth inning, leadoff hitter Kim Hun-gon hit a 134 km/h sweeper on the fifth pitch to enable Samsung to take the lead first by hitting a 110-meter superior solo home run. Samsung continued its chances by allowing Diaz to get on base with a walk. 

The KIA bench lowered its starting pitcher's nails at Kang Min-ho's at-bat and activated its bullpen. With Jang Hyun-sik on the mound, he also gave up a walk to Kang, leading to a crisis of first and second bases with no outs.
